Not long ago I wrote a post titled, “How to Pray Aloud Like a Man.” Rick Warren’s oration is a prime example of a great prayer for men. I love its tone and breadth. I love its boldness. It’s the kind of prayer that sounds right coming from the mouth of a man.
So I’m planning to start each day this week by saying this prayer. Will you join me?
Here’s the prayer:
I want you to use me. Anytime. Anywhere. Anyway. Anyhow.
Use me by your grace. Fill me with your Spirit. Give me your vision for my life.
Protect me from these traps. I want to live a life of integrity. I want to live a life of humility. I want to live a life of generosity. But most of all, I want to learn to trust you completely.
I want to have a radical faith. I want to expect great things from you and attempt great things for you, for the global glory of God. Give me your dream for my life.
Help me to be willing to risk failure and to not be afraid of it. Help me to trust in your grace. I want to expect you to use me, and I want to ask you to help me to never give up.
So I surrender myself to you, that a revival and a resurgence would happen in my heart.
Father, I thank you for these who just prayed this prayer. I know that you can send a revival, a reformation, a restoration, a renewal, a resurgence that all of the forces of hell couldn’t stop.
